When she was only one year old, her mother would go in to collect her from her nap and she would contentedly be going through the pages of her bible, gibbering away as she turned through the stories.
She was one – not able to yet read or talk in clear sentences.
When she was just two years old, her parents were amazed as she prayed fervently at the dinner table “to know God more.”
She was two – not yet able to fully understand what she was even asking for.
Or was she?
Through her innocence, trust and simple approach, what was God showing her? What is He showing us through her?
It’s simple, really. Be childlike, talk with Him, and be hungry. But do not attempt to fill that hunger with things of the world, but of more of His word and more of Him.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”… this is for Sienna, and all who are like her.
Beautiful, Melinda! It’s amazing what God teaches us through His children.
