This was too good not to share. It’s not something I wrote, but is from my morning devotional, I Hear His Whisper, by Brian Simmons and Gretchen Rodriquez. I thought it went so well with one of my favorite photographs. It says,
Come close to me and sit with me on my mercy seat, where love is enthroned. Dwell with me in the cloud of mystery. Delight in my mercy. The new and life-giving way into my presence has been dedicated for you. Enter, feast, and be delighted in my love. Steep yourself in my love, until every fiber of your being is saturated.
My secrets are reserved for those who fear me and bow in worship at my throne. I seek those whose greatest desire is to know me. Whose heart longs for me in holy wonder. Whose soul thirsts for Living Waters. Who desires purity in their deepest parts. As you surrender all, I fill you with my all. I infuse you with wisdom, glory, and strength. Here, in this place of sacred surrender, you will find your destiny. You will taste eternal pleasures that begin here on earth and continue forevermore. Delight yourself in me, and you will feel the warmth of my radiant smile upon your life.
This scripture was not part of it, but it seems so fitting to add. I pray both words strengthen and encourage you.
Psalms 37:3-11
Trust in the Lord, and do good;
dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.
Delight yourself in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him, and he will act.
He will bring forth your righteousness as the light,
and your justice as the noonday.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him;
fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way,
over the man who carries out evil devices!
Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath!
Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil.
For the evildoers shall be cut off,
but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land.
In just a little while, the wicked will be no more;
though you look carefully at his place, he will not be there.
But the meek shall inherit the land
and delight themselves in abundant peace.
